SAFETY ADVICE AND WARNINGS:
- Read these instructions carefully before switching on the appliance and keep
them for future reference. Failure to follow and observe these instructions could
lead to an accident.
- Clean all the parts of the product that will be in contact with food, as indicated in
the cleaning section, before use.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Place the appliance on a horizontal, flat, stable surface that is free from
vibrations. Avoid any contact of the weighing area with walls or other objects
not to be weighed as this could lead to an inaccurate weight being displayed.
USE AND CARE:
- Do not overload the appliance’s weight capacity.
- Remove the batteries from the appliance if the appliance is going to be stored
away for a long period of time.
- This appliance is for household use only, not professional, medical or industrial use.
- This appliance is not a toy. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the appliance.
- This appliance is intended for adult use. Ensure that this product is not used by
the disabled, children or people with reduced mental, physical or sensory capability
or people not use to its handling unless they have been given instruction on its
use and are supervised by someone responsible for their safety.
- This appliance should be stored out of reach of children and/or the disabled.
- Any misuse or failure to follow the instructions for use renders the guarantee and
the manufacturer’s liability null and void.
- This scale has a maximum capacity of 5000 g or 5 kg, do not exceed this limit as it
could damage the scale.
INSERTING/REMOVING THE BATTERY/S:
- Caution: During the handling of batteries, do not touch both poles at the same
time, as this will provoke the partial discharge of the stored energy therefore
affecting lifespan of the battery.
- Remove the battery case lid.
- Ensure that the plastic covering that protects the battery has been removed
(some batteries are sold with a protective cover).
- Insert the battery into the designated area, taking into account the polarity (Fig.1).
- Replace the battery case lid.
- It is essential that the batteries should always be the same brand and have the
same charge. Never mix alkaline batteries with normal ones (i.e. Carbon- Zinc)
and/or rechargeable ones.

- N.B. When changing the batteries, the configuration of the appliance will be
reset, and you will need to reprogramme the parameters of the appliance.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Before use:
- Before using the product for the first time, clean the parts that will come into
contact with food in the manner described in the cleaning section.
- Prepare the appliance according to the function you wish to use:
Use:
- Turn the appliance on, by using the on/off button.
- Place the items to be weighed in the middle of the appliance’s weighing platform,
avoiding sudden movement or contact with other objects, until the appliance
shows the weight. The correct weight will be displayed after 2-3 seconds.
- To avoid inaccurate results caused by electromagnetic interference between
electrical and electronic equipments, do not use this appliance near to a cell phone
or microwave oven.
- If the unit is not in use it will automatically switch off after 90 Seconds.
Weighing units selection function kg/g/lb/oz:
- To select a measuring unit press the “UNIT” button until the desired measuring
unit is displayed on the screen (fig. 2).
- The appliance can measure in the following units: kilogram, gram, pounds and
ounces.
Tare function:
- The appliance includes a tare function. This function is useful for weighing
different items one after the other, without having to remove everything from the
weighing platform each time.
- For example, if you want to weigh 100g of flour and 25g of water, you can weigh
the 100g of flour and then, by pressing the tare button, reset the screen to
“0.00”, then you are able to weigh the 25g of water with the flour still on the scale.
- Once the Tare button has been pressed wait 2-3 seconds until the screen
displays “0.00”.
ONCE YOU HAVE FINISHED USING THE APPLIANCE:
- Switch off the appliance by pressing and holding the on/off button until the
screen switches off.
- Clean the appliance as described in the “cleaning” section.

SPECIAL MESSAGES:
The following messages can appear on the screen:
- “EEEEE” means that the appliance’s capacity has been exceeded, remove
whatever is on the weighing platform.
- “Lo” means that the battery has to be changed or, if applicable, recharged.
CLEANING:
- Clean the appliance with a damp cloth with a few drops of washing-up liquid.
Then rinse with a clean soft damp cloth and dry with a soft clean dry cloth.
- Do not use solvents, or products with an acid or base pH such as bleach, or
abrasive products, for cleaning the appliance.
- Never submerge the appliance in water or any other liquid or place it under
running water.
BATTERIES:
- Only AAA batteries must be used with the appliance (Fig. 3)
ANOMALIES AND REPAIR:
- Take the appliance to an authorised technical support service if the product
is damaged or if other problems arise. Do not try to dismantle or repair the
product yourself, as this may be dangerous and will render the guarantee and
manufacturers liability null and void.
ECOLOGY AND RECYCLABILITY OF THE PRODUCT:
- The materials of which the packaging of this appliance consists are included in a
collection, classification and recycling system. Should you wish to dispose of
them, use the appropriate public recycling bins for each type of material.
- The product does not contain concentrations of substances that could be
considered harmful to the environment.
RECYCLING:
- If the product includes batteries, remove them before disposing of the product.
Remember that batteries must be disposed of in duly authorised containers. Do
not dispose of them in a fire.
