• This appliance is not intended for use by individuals  
(including children) with restricted physical, physio-  
logical or intellectual abilities or deficiences in  
experience and/or knowledge unless they are  
supervised by a person responsible for their safety  
or receive from this person instruction in how the  
appliance is to be used.  
Intended Use  
This thermal binder is intended exclusively for use in  
the thermal binding of brochures in domestic house-  
holds.  
It is NOT intended for use with any other materials.  
It is also NOT intended for commercial or industrial  
applications.  
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they  
do not play with the appliance.  
The warranty does not provide compensation for  
damage caused by improper use of the appliance!  
• Unplug the power cable after every use and before  
cleaning, so as to prevent the appliance from  
switching itself on inadvertently.  
• Check the appliance and all parts for visible  
damages. The safety concept can work only if  
the appliance is in a faultless condition.  
• Ensure that the appliance stands at a safe and  
secure positioning.  
• Do not operate the appliance if it has sustained  
a fall or is damaged. Arrange for the appliance  
to be checked and, if necessary, repaired by  
qualified technicians.

Some parts of the appliance become very  
hot during operation. To avoid burns, do  
not touch these parts.

Caution - property damage!  
• Never attempt to bind flammable, heat-sensitive  
and/or meltable materials and do not bind  
drawings made on temperature-sensitive paper  
or material that could undergo changes in colour  
or quality when subjected to heat.  
• Fundamentally, never bind valuable or unique  
documents. Although this thermal binder satisfies  
all relevant safety norms and standards, functional  
errors can never be completely discounted - as  
with all electrical appliances. Functional errors  
with the appliance could cause damage to the  
documents being bound.  
• Connect the appliance to a mains power socket  
supplying a voltage of 220 - 240 V /50 Hz.  
• Do not operate the appliance if the power cable  
or power plug is damaged.  
• Arrange for defective power plugs and/or cables  
to be replaced at once by qualified technicians  
or our Customer Service Department.  
• Never immerse the appliance in water.  
Just wipe it with a damp cloth.  
• Do not expose the appliance to rain and never  
use it in a humid or wet environment.  
• Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet  
during operation.

• Unplug the appliance immediately after use.

Operation  
• Do not leave the appliance unattended when in  
use.  
Note:  
• Do not use an external timing switch or a separate  
remote control system to operate the appliance.  
On this first use the development of a light odour  
may occur, caused by production residues (a slight  
smoke development is also possible). This is normal  
and dissipates after a short time. Provide for sufficient  
ventilation. Open a window, for example.  
1. Ensure the appliance has a stable positioning.  
2. Fold the retainer bracket 8 upwards, until it  
engages, and draw the document holder 2 out.

If you are binding particularly thick documents, with  
a spine width of 20 mm (200 sheeds), then repe-  
at the binding process approx. 5 times.

Cleaning and care  
Risk of potentially fatal electrical  
shock:  
• Always remove the plug from the mains power  
socket before you clean the appliance!  
• Never open the housing of the appliance.  
There are no user-serviceable elements inside.  
• Never submerse the appliance into water or  
other liquids!  
6. Tap the sides of the sheaf of papers a few times  
to ensure that ALL of the sheets are lying exactly  
above each other.  
7. Lay the sheets into a suitable thermal binder cover  
and then tap them down a couple of times,  
against and using the cover spine.  
8. Slide the thermal binder brochure through the re-  
teainer bracket 8 into the binding shaft 1 such  
that the spine of the brochure makes firm contact  
with the hotplate on the floor of the thermal  
shaft 1.  
Allow the appliance to cool down completely.  
Clean the surface of the housing with a slightly  
damp wash cloth.  
Ensure that moisture cannot permeate into the  
appliance.  
9. Press the START 5button. The control lamp  
glows, the control lamp 6 blinks.

for commercial applications.
